Rod Chow is an International Champion Magician. He has won over 40 magic awards from such prestigious magic organizations as: The Society of American Magicians (SAM); International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM); Canadian Association of Magicians (CAM); Pacific Coast Association of Magicians (PCAM); and Vancouver Magic Circle (VMC).
Rod is a 10 time invitee to FFFF in New York, USA, an exclusive organization of the most decorated close-up magicians in the world. He is proud to be a recipient of their coveted PhD degree, an honour which places him amongst the very top tier of international sleight of hand artists.
Rod is also a past SAM Regional Vice President for Canada, representing Canada throughout North America, promoting, advancing and prospering the art of magic for current and future generations of magicians.
Rod’s signature money magic act which he has performed in Canada, USA and China, as well as on Fairchild TV at the Centre, is a dazzling display of wealth, with money sprouting and growing from Rod’s hands in a variety of stunning permutations.
As a professional close-up magician, Rod specializes in captivating magic by infusing elements of life into universal concepts, to engage his audience’s inner feelings, by enthusiastically playing with their senses in their quest for love, fortune and happiness. This inspires him to create magic which is focused, entertainment-driven, emotional, yet light-hearted. Rod’s other entertainment experience ranges from being stage manager, show producer, event organizer, master of ceremonies, magic lecturer, and he even has a musical background as a pianist.
Rod is a B.Comm and MBA graduate from UBC, and is the president of Jack Chow Insurance. He is also the owner of the World’s Skinniest Building, holder of a Guinness Record. As the lead designer, he has won multiple international lighting design awards in 2016 and 2017 for the symphonic magical light show featured in this landmark heritage building.
